RG and RB Williams was established in 1991 by Gwyn Williams and his son Richard. Both Gwyn and Richard were partners in the firm of Coles Knapp and Kennedy which was acquired by the Halifax Building Society in 1988. In 1996 they were able to retake control of Ross-on-Wye Livestock Centre.
Gwyn and Richard worked as partners until Gwyn sadly passed away aged 88 in 2018. He had worked in Ross-on-Wye since 1954 and attended the office every day until a few months before his death.
In 2018 William Probert joined Richard in the business which trades as a Limited Liability Partnership.
Richard attended Reading University graduating in Land Management in 1982.
He was awarded the Strutt and Parker Prize as the top Student in the degree in this year.
He trained with the Auctioneering firm of Kivells in Devon before returning to Coles Knapp and Kennedy in 1983. He qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 1984 and a Fellow of the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers in 1985.
Richard has worked as a Land Agent and Auctioneer in Ross-on-Wye since 1983. His work covers all aspects of Land Agency with a specialisation in AMC Agency. He also sells the fat cattle at Ross Auction Centre.
Richard is married to Jane and they have two children, Ted and Coralie.
William attended Harper Adams University graduating with a 2.1 Honours degree in Rural Enterprise and Land Management in 2015 and is a fully qualified Chartered Surveyor (MRICS).
William has worked for RG and RB Williams from a young age and is now a Partner within the firm.
His role is diverse, being involved and conducting weekly sales of livestock and farm dispersal sales. William is also an agent for the Agricultural Mortgage Corporation and a registered valuer for the Animal and Plant Health Agency.
William was born and raised on a mixed livestock farm in South Monmouthshire, where he resides and runs the farming business.
